We were involved with the Football Association and UK Governments 2018 FIFA World Cup bid campaign, with specific responsibility for the delivery of the technical bid. Managing a large budget, developing elements of the technical strategy, and working directly with the Technical Bid Director on the strategic management of a competitive host city process, were all part of a day at the office.
A five day visit by FIFA stretched across 4 key cities. A party for over 300 high profile guests. Stadium visits. Celebrity presenters. Working with TfL and Virgin to provide private rail transport. Yup, this certainly was a biggie. On top of all that, they also led the coordination of several highly publicised international events surrounding the bid. The England 2018 launch, and a high profile event hosted by the Mayor of London himself (attended by several Secretaries of State, may we add) in South Africa were among them.
